You Can Keep the “Moral High Ground”, Thank You Very Much!

I have an issue with this whole manufactured concept of the so-called "moral high ground" that Liberals have these days.

They have twisted the whole concept into a reason for constantly attacking America and all things American. To them we are supposed to be a great nation, but we are not. In fact, we have grown too big for our britches and need to be taken down a peg or two. We are the source of everyone else’s problems. We use up all of the world's resources, we tie up all of the world's wealth, we have the world's most powerful military, but in the process we have lost the “moral high ground".

It is because we have lost the “moral high ground" the rest of the world hates us. We are rude, ugly, mean, stupid, and unfair. We don’t speak foreign languages and we are “cowboys”. We interfere in everyone else’s business and try to tell everyone else what to do. There is nothing even remotely redeeming about being an American. The United States has never done anything for the world except bring it pain and misery. It is now we who are evil.

Those who believe that we have lost the “moral high ground” believe we should be altruistic and never act in our own self-interest. We should never do what is only in the best interest of the United States of America and our citizens, but what is best for the world and all of it's people. We should just hand over all that we have and all that we are to everyone else and become nothing. Only then we will have earned the right to stand upon that oh-so-sacred "moral high ground".

You know what I think?

You can keep the “moral high ground”, thank you very much!

This is What is Going On…

Finally, after over a year of lying to the American People, the mainstream media finally acknowledged that we are winning in Iraq.

They did so not to be honest or fair, or even to inform the American People. They did it because it got the issues of national defense and foreign policy off of the table, allowing Barack Obama to shift the conversation away from John McCain’s strong points, and onto domestic issues, where Obama polls with a distinct advantage.

Why do you think energy prices were such a big deal this past month? The media pumped it up and Obama was all over it as a domestic issue - and doing quite well until he started doing things like opposing drilling and nuclear power, then suggesting that people check the air pressure of their tires.

Additionally, Republicans in Congress and John McCain saw an opening to take ownership of the energy debate and shove it down the throats of Barack Obama and the Democrats in Congress, swinging the opinion of the American People to their side in regards to domestic and offshore drilling. That is why Nancy Pelosi then shut down Congress, and at the same time the Democrats in Congress and Barack Obama went on vacation. In short, they ran for the hills hoping things would blow over. Then Obama could come back and get a bounce coming out of the Democrat Convention.

What they did not expect, however, was the conflict between Georgia and Russia blowing up out of nowhere and putting the issues of national security and foreign policy back center stage.

With Obama and the Democrats on vacation, they are not in a position to fight this political battle. Hence, that is why you have the firestorm of the Obama Campaign and their minions now attempting to do some sort of damage control by attacking John McCain's and Joe Lieberman's comments in regards to the Georgia-Russia conflict; hoping and praying that they can hold on in the polls until the convention, get their bounce, then convert it into momentum and break out in the polls - where they seem to be mired by their own ineptitude and inexperience in a virtual tie with John McCain .

This is what is going on...

Not Today!

If you are reading this, you are about to learn that today I am going to forego writing any meaningful or “worthwhile” blog, and you might think that it is a bit to soon after starting to blog here for me to “take the day off”.

The fact of the matter is that I am on vacation and have been slacking and procrastinating in a manner that would make a tree sloth seem productive. The one thing that I have accomplished is starting this blog and getting things set up the way that I like.

Starting tomorrow I hope to finally get around to doing those things that I would like to accomplish while I have the chance.

However, just as it is with me not writing a “worthwhile” blog, I will not get around to doing any of those things at this time…

Not today!

Leave Obama Alone!

I have a twisted sense of humor and I enjoy nothing more than great politcal satire or parody!

A good friend recently shared with me this parody of the now infamous Chris Crocker "Leave Britney Alone" YouTube.com video with me.

This is just SO funny I have to share it with all of you!

Enjoy!

(Please note that there is strong profanity contained within this video. Do not press "Play" if you feel you may be offended)

Leave Obama alone!

This Will Not Stand!

As you will come to learn about me over time, I have Right-leaning tendencies when it comes to politics. That is why I have chosen to name the area where I am to blog "America: With a Clockwise Twist". Why? Not only is my screen name "Clockwise", a "twist" in the "Clockwise" direction goes to the "Right".

With that having been stated, I am not a partisan. I do what I believe to be the correct and just thing to do, not just to blindly serve some politician, political party, or ideology. Hence, I will not give a pass to anyone on any subject when I think believe are wrong.

Case in point - I found this blog entry for "Dark Angel Politics with Angel Artiste" which was posted on July 26, 2008 at 4:24 pm:

In response to this image I posted the following as a Comment in regards to this image used as a blog:

I was recently made aware of your blog and have only been reading it for a few minutes and I like what I see. I, too, will never forgive nor forget Barack Obama’s arrogance, insensitivity, extreme poor judgment, and one could even make a case for lack of patriotism, for his failure to forego his campaigning and photo op moments in order to humbly visit our men and women who have paid a dear and steep price for their service in the U.S. military – most of them wounded in the combat zones of Afghanistan and Iraq.

However, as disgusted and angered I am at Barack Obama, and indeed, the behavior of the Left towards those who serve in the military – defending their freedoms and liberties – I am also not pleased with you.

Why?

Your use of the image of a wounded Serviceman in order to make a political statement. As much as I agree with you, your position, and your stand against the Left and the prospect of a future where Barak Obama is President of the United States and Commander-in-Chief of our Armed Forces, I cannot and will not idly stand by and silently allow anyone to misuse and abuse the service and sacrifice of American Servicemen and women; especially those who have been wounded.

As such, I respectfully request that you show the proper honor and respect to those whom serve and remove from your blog this image, any images like it, not to use any such image in the future, and pass along this standard of behavior to your fellow bloggers and political activists.

Service in the Armed Forces of the United States of America is a deeply personal act of selflessness, service, and sacrifice. To those not serving, witnessing such acts and people should be inspirational and emotionally moving. In return, those not serving should only do those things that brings honor and respect to those who do serve - to demonstrate appreciation and support - and never, ever take advantage of their service, take it for granted, or use their service to derive pleasure or profit; to include personal or political gain.

As someone who has served this great nation over a span that covers more than twenty-five years in both the Army and Marine Corps, who has served twenty-six months in Iraq, and who has been in combat with the enemies of freedom and liberty, I implore you to remove this image from your site and to never again engage in such behavior.

I agree with what it is that you are attempting to accomplish, but there are ways of doing it without throwing those you mean to honor under the bus in the process.

I love my politics as much as the next activist, analyst, blogger, commentator, Centrist, Conservative, Democrat, Independent, Liberal, Libertarian, Moderate, pundit, Republican, spin doctor, or talking head, but there needs to be some standards and self-discipline in our behavior and actions.

Yes, yes, I know…

Politics is a DIRTY game and not for the faint of heart.

Fine, I can accept that, but lets try to leave the innocent out of it – and that includes using those who serve in the Armed Forces as pawns in political games.

The military as an institution has no choice but to be “A-political” in the public arena, and those serving can only speak and act as private citizens - as it should be. Hence, they have no voice and cannot defend themselves against attacks or when they, their service, or their Brothers-and-Sisters-in-Arms are misrepresented, misused, or abused.

Let us all do right by them, no matter your place on the political spectrum or within the political universe, and just simply appreciate and respect their service.

Once upon a time in America, politics ended “at the water’s edge” during a time of danger and conflict and when our men and women in uniform were in harm’s way.

Let us return to that standard…

This will not stand!

And So It Begins...

Just as I am sure that there are hundreds of thousands of people - if not millions - who write blogs each and every day – all of them vying for attention and to add meaning to life – I am sure that this will be the first in a long, long line of blogs written and posted by me.

I will spare all of you the haughty claims and noble words of what it is that I seek to accomplish with my writings, how my words will change your life, or how I am so important or grand. I am a firm believer in "actions speak louder than words" so I will simply let what I write in the future reflect who and what I am, and I will let you decide the value of my words and what impact they have on you; a most simple arrangement.

And with that, I now end the first in a long, long line of blogs written and posted by me.

And So It Begins...
